Working to better people's lives!

ISSUES

MY CONCERNS

CRIME

Reducing crime requires constant vigilance by both government and citizens.

We must:

  • have a zero tolerance for the distribution of illegal drugs,
  • have a zero tolerance for crimes against persons,
  • have a zero tolerance for property crimes such as graffiti and theft,
  • support our law enforcement personnel and
  • have laws in place to protect our elders just as we protect our children

EDUCATION

Education for our children is an obligation many of us inherited from our parents and one that is taken very seriously.  Excellent performances by our teachers is one of the keys to the success of our children.

We must:

  • provide teachers with competitive compensation,
  • provide for their continuing education so they may be current with the latest teaching methods and techniques,
  • provide them with an atmosphere where they can focus on practicing their profession,
  • provide them with the resources they need to educate our children, and
  • as a community, partner with them and take responsibility to insure that our children have the best educational opportunities possible.

TAXES

Government should collect sufficient taxes to support the services demanded by our citizens, no more, no less.

We must:

  • have taxes that are as low as possible and spread out over a broad tax base
  • have taxes that are fair and progressive
  • support the industries that export our tax obligations, and
  • simplify the Hawaii tax system.

CONCLUSION

Living in the greatest society in the world, our citizens have the right to have the highest expectations of government.  But our government should also be able to depend on high expectations from our citizens.  The strength of this partnership will shape our future and determine the type of society we will live in.  Citizens must actively participate in their government.  Working together with you to better people's lives is why I would like to be your state representative.

Thank you for supporting me during my first term in office.  There is much work to be done.
